The Houston Thanksgiving Day Parade is on November 28, 2024, at 9:00am!
The parade will cover over 20 city blocks and will feature floats, marching bands, balloons and other Houston entries.
The parade is on the City Hall side of Downtown and the route is not yet posted for 2024, but it usually is… Lamar at Smith, north on Smith, east on Walker, south on Milam, west on Pease, north on Louisiana, west on Clay, north on Smith and concludes on at Smith at Dallas.
See the map here:
Metered street parking and paid lot parking will be available, but will get tight. Arrive early or consider taking METRORail.
After the parade, you can head to Discovery Green to skate on the ICE!

What is the best parking for Houston Thanksgiving parade it would be the first time going with kids

Maribel -
My best advice is to get there early. Anywhere close to parade time is going to have very limited parking. My personal preference is to either park in the museum district and take the MetroRail, or to park closer to Discovery Green and to walk over (about 10 blocks). (The City Hall side of downtown is going to be extra busy.) Besides that, I don't have a great lot to recommend. I would just arrive early and take the first street spot (my preference) or parking lot that looks decent.
If anyone has a good spot to recommend, let us know!
Thanks,
Jill

Parade starts at 9am. What time is early? Esp for getting parking.
Also what is the best spot to see(with kids), esp given it is suppose to rain?
Thanks for the informative blog.

We are planning on getting tickets. Do you know if we are allowed snacks and drinks and can we get up to go potty?
